Many of us would love to have just one single calendar with all our events and plans on there, since the iPad is so portable and easy to have around it should be just as easy to sync your Google calander to it to right? Sure you can sync your Google calendar but what if you want your Facebook events synced too? This has been prooving difficult to be done as the iPad stock calendar app only display the primary account calendar. For a simple tutorial on how to Sync Facebook events to Google Calendar click here.
Breakdown: You’ve synced Facebook events to your Google calendar but your Facebook events are not showing up on you iPad Calendar.
Stop everything you’re doing, return to your Google calendar and delete your synced Facebook events.
At a later stage once we get the iPad to start viewing our Facebook events synced with Google Calendar you will notice a bug, all “Private” events on Facebook has Google showing none of the details and only have a description of “Busy” on that day. This is pointless to us because we want to know what was happening that day?
Right, you should have deleted your synced Facebook events by now. First thing we need to do is:
This website/service overcomes this problem by working in between facebook and google and changing all PRIVATE ical flags to PUBLIC before they reach Google
Now you can enjoy having your Facebook events on your iPad Calendar synced to your Google Calendar.
Extra Notes: I realize you can visit Facebook, click export events and by clicking the URL on your iPad you can “Subscribe” to that calendar and it will be displayed on your iPad calendar but the problem I found is that it still will not be synced with your Google calendar. It’s only viewing it separately on your iPad.
